The Text Scanner app brings you smart Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology right in your pocket. With this app, you can extract editable text from any image and take actions like editing, pronunciation, translation, and sharing instantly.

📘 App Content

The Text Scanner app allows users to:

  • Take a picture using the camera or select an image from the gallery

  • Automatically scan and extract text from the selected image

  • Edit the extracted text

  • Pronounce the text using text-to-speech

  • Translate into multiple languages using built-in translation feature

  • Copy or share the final text with others

⛔ User Privacy Notice:
The selected images are used only at the time of scanning. The app does NOT store, collect, or upload any images or scanned text to any server. All processing is done within the app to ensure user privacy and security.

  • Built using Google’s Android Studio IDE and official Google SDKs

  • No third-party or unofficial APIs used

  • Integrated Google AdMob for lightweight, minimal ads to support future development and maintenance

  • Uses advertising ID only to show relevant ads (no personal info collected or stored)

🔐 Data Collection & Permissions – Text Scanner

The Text Scanner app offers a powerful and secure tool to extract, edit, pronounce, translate, and share text from images. To provide this experience, the app requests limited permissions and handles data with utmost care and transparency.

✅ Permissions Requested:

Photos and Videos (Media Access):

  • Required to capture images via the camera or select images from the device gallery

  • Images are used only at runtime for OCR (Optical Character Recognition)

  • No images are saved, shared, or uploaded to any server

Advertisement ID:

  • Collected for Google AdMob integration, which shows banner and interstitial ads

  • The Advertising ID is used only for ad personalization, following Google Play policies

  • No personal user data is collected or transmitted

Internet Access:

  • Required to enable online translation functionality

  • When a user requests translation, the app sends the extracted text to our secure online translation server at zainumrahtransport.com

  • In return, the translated result is displayed to the user

  • Only the text selected for translation is sent; no personal user data, images, or metadata is collected, stored, or shared through this process

🔒 Data Handling

  • The app does not collect or store any personally identifiable information (e.g., emails, contacts, files)

  • Images, voice inputs, and documents are never uploaded to any server

  • All scanned word data is stored locally in app-specific storage for offline access

  • Online translation is done securely through a single-purpose API and no data is logged or reused
